About the Project

Allt an Tuir Renewable Energy Park

The initial proposal is for up to nine turbines with a maximum height of 200m to tip, an area for solar panels and plans to co-locate battery storage on-site to maximise the use of the grid connection. The project will have an overall generating capacity in excess of 50MW.

As part of the development process we must undertake an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) to assess the effects of the development on the natural, physical and human environment. The number, size and layout of the turbines will be determined by environmental, technical and commercial constraints identified during the EIA and iterative design processes.

The EIA process will eventually see a Section 36 application submitted to the Scottish Government for determination. The Highland Council will be a statutory consultee in this process.

Project Partners

Allt an Tuir Renewable Energy Park is a joint venture between two well-established companies:

  • REG Power Developments, a UK company established in 2005, is a developer, owner and operator of renewable energy projects and has developed and has built over 1GW of operational wind and solar projects, almost exclusively in the UK.

  • ESB, Ireland’s premier energy company, is a leading independent power generator in the UK. ESB has a track record of over 20 years as a successful independent power generation investor in the UK and owns and operates onshore and offshore wind farms across the UK and Ireland with a current total installed generating capacity of 600MW.
